Ciao! I'm Natalia. I live in beautiful Trento in northern Italy, and I work here with people who have addictions to psychoactive substances and are suffering from AIDS. It's hard to believe that almost nine months have passed since I started my project.
So much has happened that it seems I have been here for years. On the other hand, everything is happening so fast that it feels like I have only been here for three months.
Taking part in this project was one of the best decisions of my life. How much I have gained here is countless, and the best is yet to come, because the fruits of such experiences stay with us for life. Five years ago, I was a volunteer in Indonesia, and what I learned and experienced there has stayed with me to this day. I'm sure Italy is a life-changing experience as well.
Amazing relationships, friendships, lots of joy, laughter, support and understanding, self-discovery, incredible travels around the country, wonderful sun, unearthly mountains, an environment of cultural diversity, beautiful Italian language, unique art, various colors, delicious flavors, delicate scents, but also difficulties and opportunities to grow are just a few examples of what I received during these nine months of my Italian la dolce vita.
