Ciao a tutti!
My name is Iris. I am 18 years old and from Germany. Currently, I live in Bolzano, in the beautiful north of Italy. I finished school last year and wanted to gain new experiences before going to university.
At the moment, I work with another volunteer at ASSB in a retirement home. Our job involves the recreational activities of the residents. Specifically, we do handicrafts together, play games, and go on excursions, for example, to Lake Garda and the Christmas market. Moreover, we organize birthday parties, Christmas parties, and always try to put a smile on the faces of our elderly. My project helps me to interact with many different people and to gain a new perspective on life.
Personally, I realize how much I have developed this year. I have learned to be more independent, organized, and in general, I have discovered a whole new side of myself.
I really appreciate having a deep insight into the Italian culture and way of life, being able to explore new places every week, and getting to know really great and special people.
So, don't hesitate and take the plunge, because it is one of life's most valuable experiences.
