Goodbye Youth in Action, welcome ERASMUS+
After 7 years the EU programm "Youth in Action" officially ended: it was the one forstering, among other opportunities, also the European Voluntary Service (EVS).
During these years InCo worked a lot and, thanks to the co-financing of the Italian National Agency (Agenzia Nazionale per i Giovani, ANG) and the Executive one in Brussels (EACEA) we coordinated 34 EVS projects - which is really a huge number, for a small organization like ours.
So just to give you a wider picture, between 2007 and 2013 we sent 96 EVS volunteers abroad (in Europe and beyound!) and coordinated the hosting projects for 116 international youngsters in close partnership with 10 no-profit organizations (such as Caritas Diocesi Bolzano-Bressanone, la Civica di Trento, Villa St. Ignazio, among others). Are you curious to know where did these volunteers come from, and where they went? soon we will post a map only, so stay tuned ;-) On the volunteers blog you will find what our volunteers say about the experience.
During 2014 and 2015 InCo will still be working on the projects approved in 2013, folloqing 36 volunteers (23 hosting, 13 sending). And meanwhile it is not stopping...the new program was just launched, l'ERASMUS+ .
ERASMUS+ is the new EU program as to training, education, youth, and sport. It aims at "changing lives, opening the minds" and allocated 14,7 billions Euros on a time span of 7 years (2014-2020) to strengthening these fields in Europe. Thanks to ERASMUS+, over 4 million youngsters, students, and adults are foreseen to have the possibility of living an experience abroad (studying, training, volunteering).
ERASMUS+ brings together seven different EU programs, including EVS - the Italian National Agency (ANG)still being the institutional point of reference in our country.
InCo is already working to new projects to be submitted, together with its network of local and international partners. Interested volunteers can keep counting on us on our website, email, Facebook and appointments face-to-face.
Thank you, Youth in Action!
We're ready, ERASMUS+!
