Would you fancy an EVS in Italy?

InCo has just opened a new selection process for two different EVS projects in italy. Read her below for more information, contact your sending organization and then, if you're interested, feel free to apply!

Villa St. Ignazio – VSI (2010-IT-35 ):

to be presented to the Italian National Agency in 1st September deadline

Dates of activity: from January 2012 until October 2012

Special considerations about the Host organization involved: Villa Sant’Ignazio live-in community is a place to host those who are unable to integrate at a psychological, moral, cultural, economic level in the environment where they live, and who cannot find adequate answers for their problems in the public sector. The live in community has specific rules which EVS volunteers must follow, such as: coming back at 11 pm (otherwise they need to ask for the keys in advance), drinking alcohol within the community or with guests is not allowed.

Themes: anti-discrimination, adults in need, entertainment activities

Vacancies: 2

Volunteers' profile: The project is open to everybody who has a special interest and sensibility to adults in need, and could bring new energy and enthusiasm in order to improve the conditions of the guests, contributing to maintain active their physical, mental, affective and attitudinal capacities. Once that the volunteers will be permanently in contact with adults in need, they should be open-minded, available to listen to them, patient and they should have certain interest in interpersonal communication. The volunteer should be ready to learn Italian and get deeply engaged. Creativity and spirit of initiative will also be greatly valued.

VKE (2009-IT-210 ):

to be presented in 1st September deadline

Dates of Activity: from January until September 2012 OR from April until December 2012

Special considerations about the Host organization involved: VKE is located in the city of Bolzano, South-Tyrol. This region is very special seen that it has a particular history and it's bilingual (Italian and German). The local culture has Austrian basis. The service is developed in both languages simultaneously: some educators and children prefer to communicate in German while others in Italian.

Themes: free-time activities, children, education

Vacancies: 2

Volunteers' profile: The project is open to every young person who has a special interest and sensibility to children and could bring new energy and enthusiasm to the host organization, helping to improve the life quality of those children and enriching the free-time activities’ possibilities. Once that the volunteers will be permanently in contact with children, they should have a positive behavior, be open to play games and make different kind of activities, available to listen to children with patience, and have certain initiative and creativeness. Basic knowledge of Italian and/or German would be important to facilitate the integration of volunteers, specially taking into consideration the bilingual situation of the region and the service. The volunteer should be ready to learn Italian/German and get deeply engaged.
