Diving into a new country Blog
Ciao, mi chiamo Lukas.
I‘m 18 years old and I come from the south of Germany.
Since September I live in Bolzano, a beautiful town in the north of Italy.
Here I‘m doing my volunteering service in a house for elderly people.
There I organize the daily animation for the residents to make their life more interesting and varied (play games, take a walk outside, gymnastics). It‘s greatful to spend time with so many friendly people and to see their thankfulness.
In my free time I do a lot of sport, which is connected with the beautiful mountains here. Mostly I go climbing or skiing with friends.
Living a year abroad is an amazing possibility, because this volunteering program gives you the opportunity to dive into a new country with its tradition and people. Since I arrived here, I learned a lot about the culture of South Tirol and the italian language.
So far going to Bolzano was and is a horizon-broadening experience.
