La dolce vita of Naomé Blog
Hi everyone,
In 6 months, I've experienced a bit of everything, the hard times when I miss my family and friends, or something in my volunteering that didn't go as I would have liked or thought. But in the end everything always worked out, everything got better, it could be a simple phone call with my family or friends or just talking to my tutor or the association I'm with.

And so my problems were all solved and that taught me that in life, when something's not right, you just have to verbalize it.
In 6 months, I've learned that you don't need to travel very far from home to get a change of scenery. Here in Italy, I've been taken aback by the food, which I've learned to make into delicious desserts and meals. I've been by the scenery, in Trento and the surrounding area no matter where you look you'll see a mountain and sometimes even snow.
I was also taken by the way of life, going to a bar to have a caffe is essential, taking a sun break while you're working, or even people's behavior is much more open than in Belgium for example. Making every moment special is what I really appreciate about my experience in Italy. In 6 months, the encounters have been one more beautiful than the other, for example those in my apartment, those in my volunteer place, and then there are all the volunteers, and then there are also the Erasmus people I meet during the languages activity with Esn, there are also the people from the “alma” or “Humain of Trentino” projects, those with whom I go skiing, and not forgetting the volunteers I met in Rome, and many other people I will continue to meet.
In 6 months, unfortunately I still have trouble speaking Italian, but at least I understand it 100%, and that's something. After French, Spanish and English, all I need is Italian, which I hope to have by the end of the esc.
In 6 months, I'll conclude by saying that I can definitely say that I really like what I'm doing in my life at the moment, and that I'm proud of it. All this experience is changing me enormously from day to day, and I'm learning more and more from day to day, and I'm meeting nice people, and I'm learning a beautiful language, and I'm living in a nice place, sometimes with nice weather. So these 6 months are super intense, interesting, full of learning and new things/knowledge.
See you soon
