“Without a doubt, over the course of these months, I learned a lot.” - Emma volunteering in Italy Blog
Ciao, my name is Emma. I'm 19 years old and I'm from Germany. I finished high school last year and went to Italy to volunteer.

For the last nine months, I worked in a middle school with children from ten to fourteen to support the teachers, mainly in German and English classes.
Without a doubt, over the course of these months, I learned a lot. Not only about the school system and working with children, but also how to live on my own and still in a shared apartment. But above all, I learned a lot about myself and I'm really grateful for all of that.
I'm actually quite sad that the school year has already finished because I feel like it was not until the last couple of weeks that I felt 100% comfortable in the school. To be honest, that was also partly my fault because I didn't speak up about the things that bothered me before. But from that, I also learned and the next time I'm in that kind of situation, I will hopefully do it better.
Nevertheless, I had a really good time in Trento and I'm not yet ready to leave this beautiful city with all the great nature around.
