Collecting memories Blog dei volontari

Hi, my name is Nora, I’m 19 years old and I come from the south-west of Germany. I am volunteering at the young Caritas in Bolzano for eleven months.

I decided to do an ESC project right after graduating high school motivated to see more of the world, get better at speaking Italian and find out what I want to do after this year (in terms of going to university/ finding the right job). When I arrived here, I immediately realized how easy it was to get to know people - especially other volunteers with some of whom I quickly became friends. At work, I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect since we have a lot of different tasks. Now I know that some of them are creating content for social media, giving feedback on workshops, helping with many different tasks in the office and - in my case - also interviewing young people about discrimination and working at a place for people with HIV and other illnesses. I have already learned a lot about living conditions of other people and social work. In addition, I have met incredibly kind colleagues. All those experiences and many more like traveling with friends, exploring the region and the on arrival training in Rome will definitely stay with me for ever and help me make the right decisions about my future. I’m very excited for what’s to come!

A presto :)
Nora
