“It's more than just a voluntary service – it's a learning journey.” - Mette volunteering in Italy Blog dei volontari
Ciao from Trento! I'm Mette, 26 years old, and from Denmark. I am currently volunteering at my project, "Casa Lamar" in the North of Italy.
In my project, I am with one other girl, supporting individuals who have had addiction, AIDS, and other health issues. We try to bring positivity, joy, and simply be present for the "ospiti". It's not always easy, but it is definitely worth it. Each person has faced their fair share of challenges, and getting to know them really gives a lot! It's more than just a voluntary service – it's a learning journey. Navigating through this volunteer project isn't just about giving; it's about receiving too. The connections, the small talks, and the lessons learned from both "ospiti" and colleagues are shaping my experience in unexpected ways.
I am living in a big flat in Trento with 8 other people. Trento, with its beautiful mountains and nice people, is becoming my second home. My flatmates are great, and the surroundings are absolutely stunning.
These are some of the things in my everyday life that make this experience special.
Grazie, Trento, for giving me memories for life!
