EVS in Italy
The European Voluntary Service (EVS) is a program of the European Commission which allows young adults between the ages of 18 and 30 years to be a volunteer in a foreign country (specifically Italy, in this case) for a determined period of time. Normally, the period oftime spans between 6 and 12 months, preferably the volunteer will stay up to 9 months. They also get the chance to know another culture, another language, and at the same time participate in the realization of a project that is useful to the local community.
In Italy, InCo works in close cooperation with a number of differentnon-profit entities throughout the country, mainly focusing on the Northern region. Most of InCo'sprojects involve working with children of disadvantaged backgrounds, assisting elderly people, and/or assisting people that have a disability of some sort.
